Quote / Inspiration:
Opposites do not compete; they complete one another.
“Orange and Blue” explores the quiet tension between opposing forces that exist within all of us. The upper half burns in vibrant orange — a field of warmth, passion, fire, and movement. It represents vitality, joy, desire, and the emotional intensity of being alive. The strokes are expressive and layered, suggesting both chaos and energy, like heat rising into the air.
Below, cool blue tones settle in contrast — calm yet heavy, reflective yet turbulent. The textured surface carries depth and complexity, evoking water, memory, sadness, and introspection. It is the emotional undercurrent that balances the flame above.
Between these two worlds rests a subtle line of gold — a pathway, a threshold, a fragile place of balance. Gold symbolizes value, wisdom, and the sacred middle ground we walk each day. Yet it does not stand alone. A darker line intersects the composition, reminding us that light and shadow coexist. Where there is joy, there is vulnerability. Where there is warmth, there is coolness. Where there is hope, there is also uncertainty.
This piece speaks to the human experience — the constant negotiation between extremes. It invites the viewer to reflect on their own inner contrasts and to consider the beauty found not in perfection, but in balance.”
